I love trees!  My children have accused me of coming home from work, and going down to our lower yard to talk to my trees before I say “Hi” to them. All I can say to that is…it’s true.  Isn’t that right Mr. Dorsett Golden?

I’m a huge fan of the Dave Wilson Nursery of Modesto CA.  They supply most of the commercial orchards; however, they are enthusiastic about “Backyard Orchard Culture.

The key to the urban orchard is picking the right trees, preferably on a dwarf stock, and then, through careful pruning, controlling the size of the trees.  That way you can plant more trees closer together.
